DJing the San Diego Dental Society Holiday Party
Of all the San Diego corporate event DJs out there, the San Diego Dental Society chose me to DJ and MC their holiday party at Morgan Run Club & Resort on December 1, 2022. The following write-up is based on San Diego DJ Track Star Staci’s super detailed outline for this Morgan Run Club corporate event.
THE MORGAN RUN CLUB COCKTAIL HOUR & DINNER
While southern California corporate DJ Track Star Staci offers clients pre-curated background playlists to choose from, the San Diego County Dental Society opted to add some holiday tunes for their event.
- Crowd Demographics ➔ ages 20-60s, 50/50 men and women.
- Take Requests ➔ yes, at this San Diego corporate event DJ’s discretion
- Genres of Music ➔ clean upbeat music, 70s and up. Latin ok.
- Swearing ➔ mostly clean
- Attire ➔ business casual or formal (no dress code)
- Meal ➔ buffet
FORMALITIES AT THIS SAN DIEGO CORPORATE EVENT
To make the raffle faster and easier, corporate event DJ Track Star Staci suggested announcing the names of the winners instead of reading a long series of numbers. The timeline looked like (no dancing):
- 5:30 pm – music starts (VIP start time)
- 5:45 pm – speech/toast on the venue’s mic
- 6:00 pm – everyone else arrives
- 6:45 pm – meal service
- 7:30-8:00 pm – slideshow presentation
- 9:00 pm – last song
MORGAN RUN CLUB CORPORATE EVENT DJ SET-UP
The San Diego County Dental Society opted for a custom set-up from DJ Track Star Staci, which included the following gear:
- One iconic Shure-55 microphone on a gooseneck stand
- Four speakers
- Rane One DJ controller
- Allen & Heath sound mixer
- No lighting
